Cloud Systems & Platform Engineer

London | hybrid – 1-2 days per week

We are partnering with a large organisation that is modernising its technology estate and moving towards a more integrated, cloud-first approach to platform management.

They are looking for an experienced Cloud Systems & Platform Engineer to take technical ownership of key systems and services across a predominantly Microsoft environment.

This is not a software development position. Instead, you will sit between infrastructure, architecture, application teams and external technology partners, ensuring platforms are secure, resilient and capable of supporting future change.

You will take responsibility for assigned services throughout their lifecycle, covering technical configuration, monitoring, upgrades, integration and ongoing support.

Your work will span areas including:

  • Microsoft Azure services including App Services, Web Apps, Log Analytics, API Management and disaster recovery technologies.

  • Identity and access management across Azure AD / Entra ID, Conditional Access, SAML and hybrid identity environments.

  • Systems integration and API-based connectivity between cloud platforms.

  • Monitoring, security, performance, resilience and scalability of business-critical services.

  • Third and fourth-line investigation across cloud infrastructure, servers, databases and networks.

  • Technical input into change planning, architecture discussions and service improvements.

You will work closely with Solution Architects, technical delivery teams and external suppliers, while also contributing to planning and prioritisation across the wider technology function.

Part of the role will involve defining and challenging non-functional requirements, ensuring areas such as security, maintainability, performance and availability are properly considered before changes move into production.

What we are looking for

  • You will bring strong hands-on experience supporting Microsoft Azure environments and a good understanding of cloud infrastructure, identity, integration and enterprise systems.

  • Experience with Azure monitoring, networking and IAM technologies will be particularly important, alongside the confidence to discuss technical requirements with both engineering teams and business stakeholders.

  • Exposure to Dynamics CRM, Business Central or other Microsoft business applications would be useful but is not essential.

  • Azure certification would be highly regarded, although equivalent practical experience will also be considered.

This position would suit an experienced cloud or infrastructure engineer who wants broader ownership of technology platforms and greater involvement in architecture, change and technical decision-making.
