Your day-to-day impact:
Designing and developing full‑stack applications using Python, modern frameworks, and cloud‑native tooling
Building clean, maintainable backend services and APIs to support environmental data pipelines
Creating intuitive front‑end interfaces that make complex information accessible to diverse audiences
Working closely with researchers, analysts, and programme leads to translate real‑world environmental needs into technical solutions
Contributing to architecture decisions, code reviews, and continuous improvement across the engineering function
Supporting the organisation’s shift toward more automated, scalable, and open digital platforms
Skills and experience you will bring:
Strong experience with Python and at least one modern web framework (e.g., Django, FastAPI, Flask)
Solid front‑end skills with JavaScript/TypeScript and frameworks such as React or Vue
Experience working with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and CI/CD pipelines
Understanding of data structures, APIs, and distributed systems
A collaborative mindset and the ability to communicate clearly with non‑technical stakeholders
