QA Engineer / Software Tester

Contract | Up to £450 per day | Remote (UK)

 

We are working with a leading UK technology consultancy that's looking to engage an experienced QA Engineer who has worked in projects with the stack C#, SQL, Javascript, React and Next.js to support the delivery of a number of high-profile digital transformation programmes.

 

Joining an established Agile-focused delivery team, you will play a key role in ensuring the quality and reliability of modern software solutions, working closely with Developers, Business Analysts and Product Owners throughout the software development lifecycle.

 

This is a hands-on testing role, suited to someone who enjoys working across multiple projects and collaborating with both technical and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality software.

 

The Role

 

You will be responsible for planning, designing and executing test activities across a range of web-based applications and APIs, helping to ensure new functionality is delivered to a high standard. You will contribute throughout the development lifecycle, identifying defects early, improving test coverage and supporting continuous improvement across the QA function.

 

Key Responsibilities


  • Design and execute manual and automated test cases.

  • Create test plans, test scripts and acceptance test scenarios.

  • Perform functional, regression, integration and end-to-end testing.

  • Work closely with Developers and Business Analysts to validate requirements.

  • Log, investigate and track defects through to resolution.

  • Support sprint planning, backlog refinement and release activities.

  • Contribute to test automation and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Ensure software meets agreed quality standards before release.


About You


We are looking for someone with:

  • Commercial experience in a Software QA or Test Analyst role.

  • Experience working in projects with the stack C#, SQL, Javascript, React and Next.js 

  • Experience testing web applications and REST APIs.

  • Strong understanding of Agile delivery environments.

  • Experience creating test plans, test cases and defect reports.

  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.


Experience with automation tools such as Playwright, Cypress, Selenium or similar would be advantageous, as would experience working within consultancy or client-facing environments.
