The role:
As Senior Data Engineer, you’ll take ownership of designing, building, and optimising scalable data pipelines and infrastructure that power analytics, personalisation, and product intelligence across the organisation. You’ll work closely with data scientists, product teams, and engineering leads to ensure data is reliable, accessible, and primed for advanced use cases.
Key responsibilities:
Architect, develop, and maintain robust ETL/ELT pipelines using modern tooling
Lead the evolution of the company’s data platform, ensuring scalability and performance
Build and optimise data models to support analytics, reporting, and machine learning
Implement best practices around data quality, governance, and observability
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to translate business needs into technical solutions
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to engineering standards and culture
Drive continuous improvement across the data ecosystem
Tech stack:
Cloud: AWS, GCP, or Azure
Data Warehousing: Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift
Pipelines: dbt, Airflow, Dagster, Kafka, Spark
Languages: Python, SQL
Infrastructure: Terraform, Docker, CI/CD tools
BI/Analytics: Looker, Power BI, Tableau
About you:
Proven experience as a Senior Data Engineer in a fast‑paced environment
Strong SQL and Python skills with a deep understanding of data modelling
Hands‑on experience with cloud‑based data platforms
Comfortable designing scalable architectures and solving complex data challenges
Passionate about education, technology, and using data to drive meaningful outcomes
Strong communicator who enjoys partnering with technical and non‑technical teams
A proactive mindset with a desire to influence strategy and technical direction
